summer 2008 Accomplishments

The 2008 Summer Long Course Championship season is now completed and we are proud of all of our BAC swimmers.  Our swimmers attended the Michigan Long Course State Swim Meet in Jenison.  BAC Alumni swimmers also had outstanding summer meets. 

Michigan Long Course State Meet

Congratulations to the BAC Swimmers that attended the Michigan Long Course State Meet hosted by Jenison Aquatics.  These swimmers had some outstanding swims including personal bests in many of the events.

Olympic Team Trials

BAC Alum Ava Ohlgren qualified to swim in every event offered at the Olympic Team Trials except for the 800 Free (she has not swam this event for years.)  Ava swam in a select number of events and her finishes are listed below:

400 IM 12th place

200 IM  6th place

200 Fly 15th place (after the prelims, did not swim in the finals)

100 Free 60th place

50 Free 34th place

Ava swam personal bests in the prelims and semi-finals of the 200IM and in the prelims of the 50th Free.

Congratulations to Ava from BAC for all these great accomplishments.

U.S. Open

Ava Ohlgren swam at the U.S. Open swim meet in Minneapolis, MN at the end of July.  Once again BAC is proud of our Alum as Ava had excellent swims.  Ava is the 2008 U.S. Open Champion in the 400 IM!

Central Zone 3, Speedo Championship Meet

Bobby Jenrow, BAC Alum, swam at the Speedo Champions Series Central Zone 3 Swim Meet held at Indiana University in mid July.
