Spring 2008 Accomplishments

The 2008 Spring Championship season is now completed and we are proud of all of our BAC swimmers.  Our swimmers attended the Blue Division District, JO-East, 12 & Under State, 13 & Over State Swim Meets, and one of our alum swam at the NCAA's. 

District Meet Highlights

The District Meet was held the weekend of February 22 - 24 at the LCRC. We had 45 swimmers participating in this meet.  There were some great swims and we had 37swimmers achieve at least one personal bests at the meet.

Junior Olympic Highlights

The Junior Olympic East Meet was held the weekend of February 29 - March 2 at Clarkston  High School. We had 31 participants from BAC.   There were some great swim and 28 swimmers achieved one or more personal bests at the meet.

Boys High School State Meet

BAC had 6 of their older boys swimming in the recent High School State Swimming Championships held March 7 & 8 at EMU (Division 2) and Oakland University (Division 1). Our BAC swimmers represented the following schools :   Catholic Central, Grosse Pointe North, Northville, and Plymouth. Our boys swam exceptionally well.

NCAA Championships

Ava Ohlgren, now swimming at Auburn University, recently swam in her 2nd NCAA Championships held at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.  We are so proud of Ava as she once again had many great swims.

She finished 1st in the 200 IM setting a new pool record of 1:53.94 and just missing the NCAA record by three hundredths of a second  - great swimming Ava!  Ava also finished 2nd in the 400 IM and 3rd in the 200 fly.

Relay finishes were:  3rd 200 Free, 2nd 400 Medley, 8th 800 Free, 4th 400 Free

Ava earned seven All-American honors for the meet which only 13 other Auburn swimmers have achieved.   Good luck at the Olympic Trials Ava from all of us at BAC!

12 & Under State Meet

The 12 & Under State Meet was held the weekend of March 8-10 at Lake Orion High School. BAC had 5 swimmers qualify for the meet.  Here are the results for our state swimmers:
